In 1921, a man named Ben Widdifield traveled to Charlton to preach the Gospel to his relatives in the area. His sister and her husband, Florence and Stewart Rodgers were among those who heard the Gospel message and were saved. In 1923, the assembly began meeting in a schoolhouse that had been moved to the corner of the Rodgers farm. The Christians met there until they relocated to a hardware store in 1966, where we currently meet.
The Christians who currently meet at the Charlton Gospel Hall, like those who met when it commenced, would seek to share with those around us the Gospel (good news) concerning Jesus Christ. This message, that we are loved by God and that we can be reconciled to him through his Son, Jesus Christ, has changed our lives. Our building name, 'Gospel Hall', is indicative of this priority that we have.
